Rather than write about the importance of this day, about a commitment to remember all those would have gone on from this Mortal Coil — some in service to their nation — the old cliché seems more appropriate and absolutely true: a picture tells a thousand words. So, a few photos from the Memorial Day observance at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on the Point Loma Peninsula overlooking San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It’s my deepest conviction our brother Carl considered this small corner of the world, San Diego, the bay and the ocean, his one true home. Who could disagree.
