He ain’t heavy, he’s his brother! Just saw a great interview with Cain on the Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell. Worth watching!

With the bloodlust lately demonstrated by Republican debate audiences, I'd guess they're hoping Cain can slay his brother.

Thanks Steve. I would guess it's true Zappa fired him. Muddying the waters though: Zappa is credited with helping George create Little Feat. We can certainly be assured George's lifestyle wasn't agreeable to FZ. I wouldn’t doubt George was kicked out, but I would also guess it was more than the song *Willin’*.

On the other hand, since I love both Little Feat and FZ, I'm glad Lowell George left the Mothers. Two of the best bands of the 1970's.

Enjoyed your tribute to Lowell George.

The rumor that George was kicked out of the Mothers is more than that. George said it happened. The performance where he said it is on YouTube, just before he plays Willin'.

Of course that doesn't mean it happened, but he does say it. If you simply put the title Willin' into Youtube there is a limited number of videos of Lowell George doing the song. The one where I heard him say it was live audio recording--and not a terrible one-- but I think the video was just some still photos. Cheers.

The problem is is that some people are so closed minded and hard headed and are so caught up in their own perception of what they think a woman should be like that they forget that this is reality, people are going to do what they want to, and if they aren't hurting anyone, they need to accept it, get over their own perceptions, and move on, or, have no one but those who share those same perceptions be around them

First, I’m going to assume that in the last sentence of your first paragraph you meant to write: “Just because her actions after her daughter's [death] may seem like that of a [guilty] person, those actions are not evidence.“

As for the rest, it looks like we agree. Well, I just flat out believe the death penalty is archaic and barbaric and as a civilized nation we should abolish it forever.

The prosecution really screwed the pooch on this one.

For your first part about Casey Anthony, I agree, she was rightfully found not guilty simply by the fact that the prosecution had not only no real evidence that Casey had murdered her, but in fact that there was no evidence that her daughter was murdered at all. Just because her actions after her daughter's may seem like that of an innocent person, those actions are not evidence.

For your second part, this is sadly what a lot of the news media has become, nothing more than opinionated, ratings whores who tell you what you should believe and only give you a few of the facts (the ones they want you to know) instead of giving you all the facts.

As for the third part, while I do support the death penalty, I think it should be applied very rarely, only in cases where the evidence leaves without any sort of doubt that the person might be innocent, that the murder that was committed must be extremely horrific, that the person must not have any mental disabilities (either mentally ill and/or mentally handicapped), and only if the person has turned down a plea agreement to go to prison for the rest of their life. Either this, or get rid of the death penalty entirely, because it is bad enough to send an innocent person to prison, it is even worse to put them in the ground.

The law is about finding justice, not revenge.

You discribed Elaine to a tee.
We remember her well and have followed all her trials etc. She was an inspiration to our daughter Diane, as Diane got throat cancer and breast cancer at the same time. Elaine held her up when she couldn't bear anymore.
We will be there at the reunion to honor her. Love to all of you.
Good point and a point made by many Constitutional lawyers. And Roxanne's bikini, for instance, is also a form of celebrating our nation, heritage and flag. She certainly isn't wearing it disrespectfully and obviously the two people sitting on the flag weren't trying to be disrespectful.

I'm not a jingoistic type of person, but it made me think about the flag in this context for the first time in years.

Thanks for the comment!

Tim, I like your writing and share your reverence for the flag. However, don't confuse the flag with the inference to a flag. They are not the same thing. Roxanne's bikini is not our flag, simply a red white and blue bikini with stripes and stars. There is no way that anyone would think she was wearing a flag. Besides, the US is not the only country who uses the color red, white and blue, and there are several countries who have red white and blue stripes with or without stars. Puerto Rico and Chile come to mind.
